Getting Started

As I was making rice for dinner tonight, I thought about a movie I watched over the weekend.  In Jiro Dreams of Sushi, they say that Jiro has perfected the art of making rice.  Jiro has been making sushi for over 70 years and he says there is always room for improvement--always something new to learn.

In eduction like youth librarianship (and like sushi), I feel that we can only try to keep up with the changes that occur and attempt to evolve with those changes or lose our connection with the youth. No matter how many years we put in, we will never catch up to the changes.  This blog is my attempt to explore the issues of youth librarianship in hopes to better understand the changes that are occurring in the field.
